If it can be taken apart, it will be. Ideal for instruments that have sat unused for a long time
£80 – Half Board
£120 – Full Board
If you have any single buzzy notes on the board or can’t get low action without string choking out, a fret levelling will ensure that your action can be set low & comfortable without introducing any buzz or choke whatsoever. This can completely transform a guitar in the right circumstances.
Your frets will be levelled, recrowned and polished to a chrome-like shine.
Â
Fret levels all include a full standard setup.

Scratchy feeling/sounding frets?
A multi grade polish can take rough but level frets and convert them to a near-frictionless, crisp, mirror polished surface.
All frets will be smoothed with at least 4 progressive grades of abrasive, depending on their initial condition, to remove any scratches or dullness without changing the profile.
This can absolutely transform the feel of vibrato and bends.
£50
Sharp fret ends catching your fingers as you play?
As one of the main things that gets left out or overlooked in the manufacture of budget guitars, rounding and smoothing of sharp fret ends can make your guitar feel like a much more premium instrument.Â
All frets, both sides as standard. Treble side only £30.
£40
Give any guitar that vintage, played-in feel by rounding off the fretboard edges to mimic those found on older, play-worn instruments.
A sharp radius in transition between the fretboard and neck profile is one of the main subliminal causes of a “cheap” feeling neck. This can make a huge difference to the feel of a new or lower-end guitar and is one of the secret sauce techniques used to make premium instruments stand out in the player’s hands.
£20 Supply, fitting and cutting in of a machine-shaped bone nut.
£30 As above but with the use of a branded graphite-composite nut.
£40 Custom sized and shaped nut made up for your guitar from a quality solid bone blank, fitting and cutting in.
£40 – Diagnose & Fix
Crackly or unstable volume/tone controls? Signal drop-outs? Excess noise or hum?
This service covers diagnosis of the fault and replacement of parts, if required.
Parts are not included in this but can be sourced for you.
Archtop, Casino/335 style guitars without an access cavity, where work must be done via pickup cavities and F-holes are £10 extra.

Mod Ideas
Rounded fretboard edges make for a more comfortable, played-in feel.
Lower end guitars tend to have a sharp transition between the curve of the neck and the top of the fretboard. Knocking off the corner will make the guitar feel more like a high-end or vintage instrument.
This will include smoothing & rounding off the fret ends. Unfinished fretboards only.
Often, bridge saddle grub screws (which adjust the saddle height) can stick out of the saddle and dig into your hand, for heavy palm-muters this can be pain.
Why not have them shortened so that they don’t protrude and make your guitar that little bit nicer to play?!
A hard corner on the end of frets or a sharp edge can be at least uncomfortable and at worst can cut your hand up, jeopardising your playing for a while.
Have the corners rounded and the ends flushed with the fretboard edge, so you can slide your hand up & down the board without worry or pain. It also reduces sliding friction slightly, thus speeding up the neck overall.
A great mod for comfort and sometimes just a pure necessity to make an instrument enjoyable over the long-term.
Excess 60hz hum from your guitar? Just want as much dynamic range as possible?
If you use your guitar to record, particularly with gain, EMF can be a real pain and can even ruin otherwise great takes. Stack it up over a few layers and it’s drastically effected your song.
A grounded layer covering your control cavities will surround the electronics in a Faraday cage, isolating it from the electromagnetic fields outside the guitar and lowering your noise floor.
Tons of tonal variation can be added to a guitar with some creative switching.
From changing what each control does, combining pickups with a single tons pot, adding a 2nd volume or blend, out-of-phase, coil split or full bypass for max output, all kinds of tones and combinations can be created for relatively little cost – all integrated right into your favourite guitar.
Whatever you’d like to do, there’s usually a way.
Because a toy with more buttons and switches was always a better toy, right?!
