LTD Gets A Slippery Neck

Roughing up a gloss finish for reduced friction & easier slides

This is the 2nd guitar I’ve done this to for this customer, both have came out lovely. Just as before I used various grades of quality wet & dry paper, masking tape and a lot of patience to bring the whole finished surface down evenly – just enough to remove the glossy smoothness without losing much clearcoat depth, so the neck remains well protected for years to come.

Meticulous masking with quality tape is the key to getting this right. Angles must be crisp and clear. It’s now much easier to get up and down the neck of this beauty.
