This customer brought me his LP as he was having trouble with less than stellar performance from this strap button. No problemo! The hole was very neatly stripped out, so I was able to measure the diameter and make a plug of the same size. It was just tight enough of a fit that it needed to be gently knocked home, I then cleaned up the glue squeeze out and shaved it flush with the body.

After some time to dry, I attacked it with a small dremel matching the internal diameter of the strap button screw shank. The button was then able to easily thread itself a snug new home, very nice.

Most importantly, as with any bloke securing anything to anything else – I finished up by proclaiming “that’s going nowhere, that.”
