Epiphone Les Paul Tuner Resecuring
The screws holding the tuners to the headstock on this Epiphone Les Paul had well and truly stripped their holes. Previous attempts had been made at a repair but they weren’t done correctly and ultimately failed again.
The holes were filled with custom-fitted dowels and sanded back to a level finish before new pilot hole were drilled, allowing the screws to get a nice tight, secure bite into the wood and resulting in some very solidly attached tuners. The customer just wanted a practical fix for this but luckily most of the repair is hidden by the gear housing.
Now she’s good for years more of abuse
